ReVibe — Privacy Policy
This policy explains what ReVibe does with your information. It describes the system as it actually works. If something here stops being accurate, we change this page.
1. Who we are
ReVibe is operated by ReVibe Mastering Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17296636, registered office 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. ReVibe Mastering Ltd is the data controller for the information described in this policy.
For anything to do with your data — access, correction, deletion, complaints — email legal@revibe.music. We deal with data requests by email. Our registered office is a company-formation address and does not reliably receive general post, so please do not write to it.
2. What we collect
If you use ReVibe without an account
You can upload a track and hear the comparison preview without signing up. In that case we hold your uploaded audio, the previews generated from it, and a random session token that lets your browser get back to them. We do not ask for your name or email.
Account information
Accounts are handled by our account and authentication provider. It holds your email address and sign-in credentials, or the details of the account you use if you choose a third-party sign-in option. In our own records we keep an account identifier from that provider, not your email address.
Your audio and what we measure about it
When you upload a track we store the original file, and we store the files we create from it: masters, Performance Versions, separated parts, backing tracks, preview clips, Car Test files, the ReVibe Report and its spectrum image.
We also record technical measurements of the audio, because the product depends on them: loudness (LUFS), loudness range, peak level, tempo, musical key, noise detection, and an assessment of the source quality. We store the original filename, file size, duration and sample rate.
Purchases
Payments are taken by our payment provider, using its own checkout. Your card details go directly to the payment provider and never reach ReVibe. We store the record of the purchase: what you bought, the price, the payment provider's reference numbers for the payment, whether it succeeded, when you accepted our Terms at checkout, and any credits the purchase gave you. The payment provider holds the email address you gave at checkout; we obtain it from the provider when we need to send you the purchase confirmation.
Usage counts
We count how many masters, previews and Car Tests your account has used, and how many mastering credits you hold, so that allowances and credits work.
Technical logs
Our hosting providers produce technical logs as a normal part of serving the site and running the processing. These can include the IP address a request came from and details of the request itself. We use them to keep the service working and to diagnose faults. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with your account to track your behaviour.
3. Your music — the things that matter most
- You keep everything. You keep all copyright and intellectual property in your audio and in everything we generate from it. ReVibe claims no ownership of your music, before or after processing.
- We do not train on your music. ReVibe does not use your music, or anything produced from it, to train or improve ReVibe models or systems. This is not a preference you have to switch on — we simply do not do it.
- We do not sell, publish, distribute or use your music for marketing. We disclose it only to the service providers needed to process and deliver your order — the types of provider are listed in section 5. Uploading gives us a narrow technical permission to store your audio, process it, and deliver the results to you. Nothing more. It does not let us broadcast, sub-licence, sell or promote anything with your music.
- Processing is automated. ReVibe does not routinely access or listen to your audio. Authorised access may occur where necessary for support, security, disputes or legal obligations.
4. Why we are allowed to process it
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Process your upload and deliver masters, separations and reports | Performance of our contract with you |
| Take payment and keep the purchase record | Performance of our contract; legal obligation for financial records |
| Send the purchase and Terms-acceptance confirmation email | Legal obligation (consumer contract rules) and performance of our contract |
| Run your account and sign-in | Performance of our contract |
| Keep the service running, fix faults, prevent abuse | Our legitimate interest in a working, secure service |
| Handle a dispute, chargeback or legal claim | Our legitimate interest in defending claims; legal obligation |
We do not ask you for anything that counts as special category data, and we do not process your audio to identify or profile you.
5. Who else is involved
We use a small number of established providers, in the categories below. Each only gets what it needs to do its job.
| Type of provider | What it does | What reaches it |
|---|---|---|
| Account and authentication providers | Sign-in and accounts | Your email address and sign-in credentials. If you choose a third-party sign-in option, that provider learns that you used it to sign in to ReVibe. |
| Payment providers | Payments and checkout | Your card details, your checkout email, the amount, and our reference for the purchase |
| Cloud hosting and storage providers | Running the website and the service, and storing your audio and our records | Your uploaded audio and every file we generate from it, your account, upload, purchase and usage records, connection data, and technical logs, and aggregated visit statistics |
| Specialist audio-processing providers | Processing that separates a track into parts | The audio for that job. We never hand over your whole library. |
| Transactional email providers | Sending the one transactional email we send | Your email address and the confirmation content |
| Advertising measurement | Tells us whether our advertising leads to sales | Only if you agree: that you arrived from one of our adverts, and that a purchase happened with its value and our own reference for it. No name, no email address, no card details. |
We do not use data brokers, and we do not sell or rent your information to anyone. The only advertising platform that receives anything from us is described in section 7, and only if you have agreed to it.
Where your data is processed
Our own records of your account, uploads and purchases are held in the United Kingdom. Other providers we use are international services, and some processing — including payment processing and some audio processing — takes place outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the data protection terms and transfer safeguards those providers publish as part of their service. If you want to know where a specific provider handles your data, email legal@revibe.music and we will tell you what we know.
6. How long we keep things
These are the limits we hold ourselves to. They are maximums, not targets — we do not keep your audio longer than the period shown.
| What | Maximum we keep it |
|---|---|
| Upload made without an account, and its previews | 24 hours |
| Upload you never bought anything for | 30 days from upload |
| Everything belonging to a purchased track — your source, the master, Performance Versions, the ReVibe Report, the retained separation | You can download it for 90 days from purchase. After that your access ends. We keep the files no longer than 180 days from purchase, and in that later period only so we can deal with support requests and payment disputes. At 180 days they are gone permanently and cannot be recovered. |
| Car Test files | 30 days from when they are rendered if the track is not purchased. If the track is purchased, they are kept with the purchased track and permanently deleted no later than 180 days from purchase. |
| Anything you put in the Bin | 30 days from when you hide it |
| Purchase and payment records | As long as UK company and tax law requires us to keep financial records — currently six years. These are not audio. |
| Technical logs from our processing systems | About seven days |
We do not send you a reminder before your 90 days end. The date is shown to you at checkout and in your account. Your own copy of your music is the only copy you control, so download your files.
You can delete your audio yourself at any time, without waiting for any of the periods above — see section 8.
7. Cookies and tracking
We use one privacy-focused measurement service to count visits to this site: Vercel Web Analytics, provided by our website host. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records aggregated page views — the page visited, the referring site, approximate location, and browser and device type — tied to an anonymous identifier that is discarded within 24 hours. It also counts a few actions: that someone pressed play on the demo player on our home page, and, on our Remove a Part demo page, that someone pressed play, moved one of the mixer controls, or followed the link to use their own track. We count that each one happened, nothing more — no identifier of our own, no record of what you did with the mixer, and nothing written to your device. On the comparison page we count a few anonymous clicks — pressing play, choosing Balanced, Warm or Bright, pressing "This is the one" and pressing the Car Test button — including which version was selected at the time. These counts help us improve the page. They do not include your name, email, account, the file you uploaded or its contents, and they are not linked to you. It cannot follow you across other websites, and we cannot use it to identify you.
We advertise ReVibe on Google Search. If you agree to it, we use Google's advertising measurement on this site, so we can see whether people who arrive from one of our adverts go on to buy. It stores information on your device, and it lets us recognise that a purchase came from a particular advert and search.
You choose, and we ask first. Nothing advertising-related is stored or sent until you say yes. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no advertising storage is used — we still count that a sale happened, but without anything that could be linked back to you or to your visit. You can change your answer at any time using the link in the footer.
The cookies we do set are the ones needed to run the service: your sign-in session, handled by our authentication provider, and our payment provider's own cookies during checkout on its pages. Those are strictly necessary to provide something you have asked for, so they are set without asking. Everything else — the advertising measurement described above — is asked for first, and is not used unless you agree.
If we ever add further measurement, we will update this page before it goes live, not after.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your data;
- give you your data in a portable form;
- restrict or object to what we are doing with it.
You can delete your own audio yourself at any time — hide a track, then delete it, and the files are removed from storage. You can close your account from your account page or by emailing hello@revibe.music. Download anything you want to keep first: closing your account ends your access window.
For anything else, email legal@revibe.music. We will respond within one month. Deleting your audio does not delete the record that a purchase happened — we have to keep financial records.
If you think we have got something wrong, tell us first and give us a chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
9. Security
ReVibe uses appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. Your audio is held in private storage, and access to it is restricted.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects your personal data and creates a real risk to you, we will tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
10. Age
ReVibe is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use the platform or make a purchase. If you believe someone under 18 is using ReVibe, email legal@revibe.music.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we update this page and change the date at the top. For a change that materially affects you, we will give notice before it takes effect.
